We finally have a home!
Wow…. our blogging fervor has been off lately??? Sure you may remind us why, but still, we hope to at least keep you in touch! Okay here is the exciting news….
After 16 months of searching for the right store front, we have finally settled. We are now right in front of where we were, 2nd level River Park Square, in Spokane Washington. The store looks fabulous! Thank you to everyone who worked to hard to get the doors open!! Besides a new store filled with killer new product, what else is new?…..
1. Our grand opening party is October 23rd 4pm-9pm.
2. Our oldest baby just turned 5 and he thinks he is 15
3. It has been a weird fall; our trees are dropping leaves with out changing colors??
4. We have had a bit of press lately; pick up a copy of this years Annual Manual from The Inlander and this months Northwest Woman’s Magazine! What fun
5. Speaking of press, our episode on HGTV got skipped?? They ran up to 513 and then skipped to 553?? We are 523….. Questionable??!! Oh well, it may be a good thing, right?
6. Halloween at the mall sounds fun for little ones. Stores hand out candy. We will bring our little ones dressed as super heroes to hand out candy to your kids! So if you would prefer to stay warm, come see us!! 7pm-9pm

Movie for my Kids
Well I have to admit, I feel there is a direct relation to how my kids are acting and what movies they watch. Certain movie we all may love, Mom doesn’t like the games/behavor that follow. The Sponge Bob Movie creates silly nonsence that leads to tears. The Mupet Treasure Island keeps the piriate theme alive and well in our house. A bit of pirate is fun but the message we are teaching is to “love each other”
So when I come across “helper fixer guy” movies I love them.
1. Meet the Robinsons- My midwife kept telling us to watch this and FINALLY we did. Here is a movie we will buy. Brilliant story of “Keep Moving Forward” The movie is set around an orphan boy inventor. The first time we watched it Nate and I laughed so hard and loud when the “bowler hat guys” controls the frog and dinarsaur that James got mad at us because he could not hear!!!
2. Robots- I loved this. It was brilliant. The underlining theme of the Fathers love towards his son, and “See a Need, Fill a Need” is exactly what we are teaching our kids. The movie was clever and filled with wit, music, and imagination. One thing I was glad to see was how they showed the family side of the “bad guys”

Heart Shaped Cookies
Truth be told, this is a cookie we made for Christmas. When it came time for frosting it, I really didn’t feel like using food coloring, so I got creative. I used the zest and juice from a grapefruit, chopped dried strawberries that we picked from Green Bluff mixed with powdered sugar. Yummy!!! The next batch I used an orange. These would be great for Valentine’s day cookies
This year we hung our ornaments in zig zags across the ceiling on ribbon. That was a fun project, the boys loved it
Tradition is great, but what fun to add new twists to old ways… Or maybe sometimes even leaving the old ways?
Enjoy the cookies!

Happy New Years!!
For those of you who don’t know, our front yard is public land that is filled with wildlife. Daily bird watchers walk by our front yard on their way to hopefully get a glimpse of one of the amazing creatures. Today two HUGE hawks flew by our window and landed on a nearby tree. This was a perfect home school moment. We got out our binoculars and looked at the birds, then we opened the computer and looked up hawks. This is where I found Michael Rosenbaums Flicker Site
All I can say is WOW!!! This man travels around the world capturing amazing photos of birds. We were lost in his photos. If you are interested in learning more about our front yard visit Palisades Website
As always thanks for reading and Happy New Year!

Mixed Topics
As of recent I have discovered that people actually read my blog
I have to admit that makes me excited and nervous. Excited that I have friends who check on me, and nervous because English in general in my weakest subject. I write how I talk, in fragmented sentences. I spell how any slightly dyslexic person who has spent no time trying to improve her spelling would spell…. Horribly
Well I guess you don’t care about my faults. It drives Nathan crazy. (He is an English lit/ Spanish lit major after all) For example a local author who we love blogged about us recently. I’ve been 26 steps behind since Abraham has arrived (where is my Mary Poppins?) and did not know she wrote about us. A paper supplier in San Francisco found us because of something written about us. I went googling trying to find the latest news on aNeMonE that was unknown to us. Megan wrote and article for the Spokesman and mentioned us as well as a lovely blog mention. (Seriously check out her blog she has THE coolest crafters blog out there. She inspires me!)
She took a gorgeous picture of the tree we created. Okay I’m getting to my point here…. I left her a blog comment and called her “Cleaver” instead of “Clever” If Nathan read our blog he would be irritated. What was I thinking? 1st, it was way too late at night to be posting public comments and 2nd, her site is slightly 50ish but I wasn’t thinking June Cleaver
3rd, I lost sleep over the mistake. Silly isn’t it?
On to the Blog…. What I wanted to mention besides Megan Cooley and her cool blog, was that we watched 2 movies that I wanted to share…
1. “Dan in Real Life” I have to say we LOVED this movie. It was a comedy about “real life” it was clever (not cleaver,) it made us both laugh and cry. Maybe I loved it so much because I have a large family that has moments similar to the ones built in the movie. Maybe because the music was “Handmade” (watch the extras at the end!) Maybe because the main character held a moral standard. Kudos to Peter Hedges the director, we will be following him, like we follow Wes Anderson. Juliette Binoche we have always loved and Steve Carell is becoming one of our favorite actors
2. The Violin (El Violin) This movie was incredibly. Nathan didn’t stop talking about it for days. Francisco Vargas directs this compelling story of three traveling musicians, a father, son, and grandson. It touches on the horror of war, the basic good of humanity, and the common language of music. This movie may be a hard one to find, we use and love Netflicks.
Abraham and the boys are doing well! Our “little aNeMonE store” has been quickly gaining customers we call “collectors.” Pick up a copy of this months, Spokane Metro Magazine at our little store, they wrote a lovely little blurp on us this issue. I’ve attached the picture they used the the Magazine. It’s Jonah with one of our paper flowers Spokane Metro
I’ll try to write again this month. Thanks for all your love and support!

Abraham Jordan 11/9
He’s cute huh? I’m finished “resting” (which mean making paper flowers on the couch!) We have a big show this weekend at the Spokane fair grounds. Custer’s 32nd annual Art’s and Craft show. Then on Monday we are opening what James calls “the little aNeMonE store” downtown in river park square, 2nd level next to Nordstrom’s. Come see us for unique Christmas presents

Paper Flowers for my baby
Well I am 10 days past my due date! Today is Nathans 30th birthday. He is wishing that we have a little girl today
I think the baby will come as soon as I finish everything for this weekend. We have our largest wedding of the year on Saturday. The baby will either wait for the weekend to be over (hopefully) or come during the big event. I guess we will see the personality type I am carrying

Working Mother
Raising children is a full time job. What a joy they are, watching them grow, learn, play…. They have such good questions. They talk all day. I love building our business around them. I wonder to myself “What will they be like when they are old?” The other day James said to me “Mommy, when I’m big like Dad I’m going to find a wifey just like you!” I was so blessed all I could do was hug and kiss him. If you ever call me, you may hear them in the background and I will not apologize. They are apart of me. I am proud of them.
Mary
